I’ve just finished my first album, Survival Code, and I’m releasing it independently on my label. Huge shoutout to independent artists who are making it happen. It’s received great support, but instead of focusing on that, I just want you to sit back and listen. The whole album was created live on Instagram, so thanks to everyone who watched. I wanted to squash any rumors about me not making my own music and send a message that ghost production isn’t cool.
Track 1, When I'm With You, is my favorite. It’s a tribute to dancing through life with my favorite people. I wrote it for all the single people out there, hoping they find and dance with their soulmates one day. My early life, after leaving foster care, was very lonely and isolating, but the jungle and drum & bass scenes, and the people I met, have kept me alive through dark times. When I’m with certain people, everything is alright, and I hope this track brings a smile to you, like it does for me.
Track 2, Wolves, features MC Juiceman, who’s like a brother to me. The track is about looking after each other, just like wolves in a pack. Wolves symbolize loyalty, intuition, freedom, intelligence, and instinct—traits that guide people to find courage and embrace personal freedom. Juiceman has been a key figure in the underground music scene, and I’m honored to have him on this track.
Track 3 is an instrumental. Sometimes, we need instrumental tracks to highlight the MCs. I’ve always been a fan of MCs, so this is a salute to them.
Track 4 was originally called something else, but after reflecting on the Kybalion’s teachings about vibrations, I renamed it Nothing Rests. Life, just like sound vibrations, is always in motion, and music has the power to send messages to our subconscious. The album went through a lot of changes over six months, during which I was busy with family, horses, and running JDNB.
Track 5 is a remix I did for my friend D-Zire. She’s an incredible artist, and having her on my album in this way is a blessing. While there are no vocals from her, I highly encourage you to check her out.
Track 6, Loved For Being Fake, is exactly what it sounds like. It’s my vocals, and I’ve always enjoyed putting my words into my music. I spent so much time writing the album live on Instagram and Facebook, building everything from scratch, and it was amazing to have people watch and interact during the process. Shoutout to SS and everyone who joined the live sessions!
Track 7, The Universe Is Mental, was originally named "Crazy," but I changed it after reflecting on Hermetic philosophy and the Kybalion’s first principle: The All Is Mind; The Universe Is Mental. The track explores the idea that reality is a construct of consciousness, not just material. It delves into the creation of the Divine mind, quantum physics, and how everyone’s reality is shaped by their experiences. It touches on manifestation and the law of attraction—concepts I think everyone should explore.
Track 8, What We Gonna Do with UK Apache was written to raise money for Unicef. All proceeds go to help children affected by war. No child deserves to suffer, and UK Apache and I wrote this track out of love. While a ceasefire has been declared in Gaza, children in places like Sudan still need help.
Track 9, Try Me, is about life as one big test. It’s all about embracing challenges and lessons as they come.
Track 10, Goblins, is just a fun track. It was originally called Crotch Goblins, and it’s for all the parents out there working hard. Kids are a blessing, but they can also be exhausting.
Shouts to Inside Info for mastering.
