FALL AROUND ME

The day it sinks behind the trees
as I watch it from my window-
It’s left me with these fallen leaves
as a cold Winter wind blows-
And it takes me slowly down-
To where the rain falls ‘round-
All around, fall around
Me –
Evening fell as the crowd had gone with the afternoon-
I sat there yearning all alone
Drawing down the Moon-
And She takes me
Slowly down-
Down the road that I choose-
And the Truth that I’ve found-
And the friends that I lose –
All around – they fall around – me
Fall around me –
And my love
Falls like Winter on the town-
Soft as snow-
Drifting ‘round
And ‘round the frozen water –
Take me down – down – down-
To where there is no Answer-
-and all the broken shadows drift out to sea…
-And Loneliness falls like leaves
As they play outside my window-
But all this sorrow can’t explain
Why the cold Winter wind blows…..
… And it takes me slowly down-
To where the rain falls ‘round-
