In a small town a clock tower rings out the time,
And in that town a boy heard every chime,
He loved to write his songs in hope that all would hear.
And yet, that boy, he had one fear,
He couldn’t sing when up before a crowd,
His confidence lost, his voice growing soft, with his head bowed.
A scientist watched the boy’s every try,
Unable to sleep, he worked throughout the nights,
To make the boy a gift that would help with all of his plights.
“The words and a melody are all that she needs.
Just teach them to her, now look, wait and see.
A magic robot, she will sing the songs however you want.”
“I want to fully express all your songs.
I want to convey all the music you’ve made.”
The boy who only stared on in wonder,
Ever so slowly (ever so slowly)
He pressed the button and she began.
Although, her voice, it sounded a bit mechanical,
It echoed out and played for all the stars in the world,
And the boy, it surely now was reaching his heart.
“Please tell me, can you hear it now?
Please tell me, is it getting through?”
From that day on, unable to sleep,
To make, for her, the songs that she would sing,
The boy worked long and hard to create something just for her,
And each time he would teach her the words,
A melody taught, now look, wait and see.
A magic robot, she will sing the songs almost happily.
“I want someone to head hear the songs I’ve made—”
The crowed rose up, angry, as if they’d been played,
She noticed that the boy was so afraid
And ever so slowly (ever so slowly)
He pressed the button and she began.
Although, her voice, it sounded a little unskillful,
It echoed out and played for all the people in the world,
And this time, it surely now was reaching their hearts.
“Please tell me, can you hear it now?
I know it’s getting through, now”
“I will always sing your song forever more…”
The seasons passed and soon the boy had already grown.
A letter came, sent from the one left all on her own.
Hey, at that time, the songs that you had always taught me
Since I can still remember now,
I wonder, do you know them now?
Although, her voice, it sounded a bit mechanical,
It echoed out and played for all the stars in the world,
That heart of yours, is it getting through even now?
“Please tell me, can you hear it now?
Please tell me, is it getting through?”
“This singing voice made just for you,
I wonder, if you even knew?”
