I'm currently taking a songwriting course, and as usual, I was late for homework.
On Friday afternoon, I went straight from my job to a lovely Munich cafe, sat on a table with my notebook, and started observing.
- They were playing some kind of easy-listening electronic music in the background. Simple chord changes with a bit of drums, a kind of modern ambience for selling coffee and sweets.
- The staff was young, hip, beautiful, super-friendy, but highly stressed due to a long queue of customers.
- Even in this relaxed, comfy and positive atmosphere, there was a clear tension, as people in the queue were expecting a fast delivery of their coffee and sandwiches.
My intention was to write something sugary, caffinated, and slightly stressed. You tell me if I succeeded.
Writing took 2 hours, producing and finetuning 4 hours.
