Harnett County native Ernest Gilchrist grew up with an interest in journalism and basketball and his passions led him to Campbell College in 1976.
The multicultural relationships he developed as a youth influenced him as he matured, played college basketball, and went on to earn undergraduate and master's degrees in business.
Over the last four and one-half decades, "Ernie G" – as he's still known to friends and teammates – has worked in numerous management and consulting roles and traveled extensively.
He's also the author of Fusion of Cultures and a contributor to the PBS documentary "Voices over the Water" – which explores Scottish immigration in the United States.
In the next installment of Tales from the Creek, Ernie Gilchrist talks with Stan Cole about growing up in Harnett County, the Campbell Basketball School, his interest in journalism and history, and much more.
