Including- Christians at all time in all places
Revelation given to Servants, not Speculators
How?
Letter- addressing an actual situation
Prophecy- speaking into a situation, not just beyond it
Revelation/Apocalypse- making sense of the situation
Why?
To sustain the people in the midst of hardships/persecution
Don’t Give Up; Don’t Give In
We don’t need a key to unlock Revelation. Revelation is the key to unlocking faith in and obedience to Jesus.
Revelation is the Ultimate Good News
1. The Good News of Jesus’ Victory (v. 1, 5; John 20:30-31)
Call to Saving Faith- Have I trusted in Jesus for salvation?
2. The Good News of Jesus’ Message and Work (v. 2)
Call to Active Faith- Do I proclaim and display Jesus?
3. The Good News of Jesus’ Blessings (v. 3; Heb. 12:1-2)
Call to Joyful Faith- Do I have life abundant and free?
