US markets mostly firmer to conclude a very strong opening month to the year- Dow fell -15-points or -0.06% but logged its best monthly gain since October 2015 and best January performance since 1989. DowDuPont Inc tumbled -9.23% and capped the Dow's gains after it said sales were flat in its latest quarter as lower customer demand for its appliances and automotive products as well as the drop in oil prices weighed on the manufacturer’s top line.The broader S&P500 +0.86% to cap its best month since October 2015. The technology-centric NASDAQ rallied +1.35%, with Facebook Inc jumping +10.82% after the company reported record profit and said it added 1 million daily users in U.S. and Canada. . For the month, the Dow rose +7.2%, S&P500 +7.9% Nasdaq +9.7%
