US equity and bond markets were CLOSED overnight for the Independence Day holiday. On the US-China trade front, US National Economic Council director, Larry Kudlow said trade officials from the US and China were already talking and would continue to hold telephone calls over the coming week and schedule face-to-face meetings, Bloomberg reported. Separately, China Commerce Ministry spokesman Gao Feng said existing US tariffs must be removed for a trade deal to be struck but confirmed the two nations had restarted negotiations.
