US equity markets rallied in the closing half hour of trading following the announcement of a pact to ease trade tensions between the US and the European Union (EU) after a meeting between President Trump and the EU’s Jean-Claude Juncker in Washington - Dow up +172-points or +0.68%, erasing an earlier loss of over >100-points. The S&P500 rose +0.91% , with a the broad rally lifting the index back within 1% off its record high. The technology sector (up +1.5%) led the sector moves, while Telecommunications (down -2.9%) was the only primary sector to close in the red. The NASDAQ jumped +1.17% to a fresh record closing high (7,932.24)
