Another session of records for the benchmark US indices overnight on the eve of the third-quarter corporate earnings season getting under way in earnest. Wal-Mart (up +4.417%) led the Dow (up +70-points or +0.31%) to fresh record intra-day and closing highs. The broader S&P500 added +0.23% (touching a fresh record intra-day high as Consumer Staples and Utilities led sector gains). The NASDAQ edged +0.11% higher and also hitting a fresh record intra-day high.
