Some strong third quarter results lifted both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P500 indices to fresh record intra-day and closing highs although a late rollover in Financial stocks capped the markets' gains - Dow rose +40-points or +0.18%, trading above >23,000 for the first time ever earlier in the session. The index first crossed the 22,000 threshold a mere 76-days ago and has had four 1,000 point big figure changes this year. The broader S&P500 edged +0.07% higher. The NASDAQ was flat , with Bank of America Merrill Lynch's latest monthly survey of asset managers again identifying bullish bets on the technology-centric index as the most crowded trade on Wall Street.
