US markets closed firmly higher on Tuesday, as the Senate took a step toward passing a bill aimed at reforming the U.S. tax code. The Senate Budget Committee approved the Senate's tax plan on Tuesday, bringing the upper chamber closer to a floor vote, which is expected to take place Thursday. That saw the Dow up +261-points or +1.1%, the S&P500 rose +0.9%, and the NASDAQ was up +0.5%.
