Soundtrack for my possible birthday party one day...
(I stopped throwing birthday parties for myself decades ago)
This is a weird track, that started with a drum track (performed by Javier Estrella in Paris 20 years ago) for a project I was working that was scrapped and never used.
A couple of years later, when that project was confirmed dead, I removed all the other instruments and vocals and recorded a Hammond Organ and an upright bass part (again in Paris, different studio) just jamming around.
It had the charm of real instruments and real musicians playing but was really pointless.
Some years later I was recording my old upright piano in Buenos Aires and found this drums & bass jam on my hard drive and recorded a piano take on top of that, performed on that old piano.
Some years later I was travelling to Argentina again, bringing my laptop and microphones to make some recordings, and visiting family in Villa Gessel found my old requinto (one of the few instruments I left behind when moving away from Argentina) and decided to add a take to this "forever-ongoing-jam".
That master, never used, was mixed to be shared today May 2nd 2024.
