Lessons from this bible study:
1. Let us never feel entitled to anything like Reuben. We don't deserve anything. We are not entitled to anything but punishment for our sins
2. Joseph here shows us what forgiveness means. We see how his heart is full of love and forgiveness. When his brothers fell before him in shame, asking for his forgiveness, he weeps and reassures them "do not be afraid, for I am in the place of God?" I forgive you. It is not my place to punish you. It is not my place to seek vengeance. My job is simply to forgive.
3. When we have areas of our lives that are not going according to plan, we just need to step back and give God room to work in our life. Just kneel before Him and ask Him to turn the evil meant against us to greater good, our darkness into light, our pain into a source of joy, and our seemingly helpless situation into a source of hope for others. This is what our God is capable of.
