In this event, speakers have 10 minutes each to read excerpts of their work. The first segment of the event features Gay Talese, Erika Duncan, Daniela Gioseffi, Jaime Manrique, Fran Manushkin, and Isabella Leitner; Maureen Howard acts as moderator. In addition to reading her own poems, Gioseffi also reads the poem "On a Japanese Beach" by Nina Cassian. In the second segment of the event, Grace Paley begins by reading from her own work, and then introduces the next speakers. Jean Marzollo, David Lifson, Armand Schwerner, Ilsa Gilbert, and Helen Duberstein are the featured writers. After this, Galway Kinnell reads from his own work, and then introduces the speakers who read in the third segment of the event. Peter Kane Dufault, Penny Harter, William J. Higginson, Samuel Menashe and Jean Detra are the speakers in this segment. In the final group, Jayne Cortez begins by reading her work, then introduces readers Naomi Replansky,Enid Harlow, and Layle Silbert .
