This gathering is part of week-long, nation-wide events celebrating writers, books, and reading. It is supported by the Association of American Publishers and PEN, and the National Book Foundation. The AAP Director of Trade Divisions, Roberta Plutzik, gives opening remarks. The event features panelists giving remarks on different aspects of book-to-movie adaptations, with a screenings of the movie clips each speaker is discussing. Later, there is a panel discussion.
