Inspired by the film after I first saw it, especially the idea that a piece of music just like any obsession can drive a person over the edge...I have been there a few times with my own pursuits. I built this around "Rach III" (the piano concerto by Rachmaninoff--no 3--that is so complex to perform that it drives the main character(Rush) over the edge of sanity) which is heard at the begin and then towards the middle along with a highly fx driven "flight of the bumblebee" by Rimsky-Korsakov which is the thing that brings Rush back to sanity, or at least helps... the end of my version is a bit more ominous and does not have the resolve of the movie story...as this problem especially in regards to obsession is still with us...and me ;)
