Following on from the four sublime tracks that made up Part A of Nothing Gold Can Stay, Kasper Bjørke flexes another side of his character in the second EP.
Whereas Part A focussed on beautifully crafted songs created with friends, this EP goes back to the dancefloor with a set of three club-ready jams for the DJs. Having stepped away from the beats for several years to focus on his classical contemporary Quartet project, Kasper is clearly enjoying getting back to the business of making people move.
Venetian Blinds is a mid-tempo chugger that has a clear 90s reference in the synthesizers and shuffling, driving beat.
Dreamers (A Tribute to Laurie) references the eternal classic of Laurie Anderson’s Oh Superman, exploring synthetic choirs and crystalline, ethereal arpeggiators in a space disco context.
Oceans of Time again draws from the 90s sound palette, co-opting elements of upfront rave but always keeping one foot in the future. It’s a testament to Kasper’s versatility as a producer - an all-out dancefloor assault made with precision and sensitivity.
