Sen. Alberta Darling is urging taxpayers to show up and make their thoughts on the 2019-21 state budget known as the Joint Finance Committee hits the road over the coming weeks for a series of public hearings.

Darling, co-chair of the powerful Joint Finance Committee, has plenty of disagreements with Gov. Evers' proposed budget, which grows spending by a staggering 8 percent.

"I think was Gov. Evers did, was it was a giveaway to his special interests. He doesn't care if the budget is balanced...he just divvied up the money to his friends and people he felt were supporters of his," Darling said.

Darling talks about the Evers spending plan, previews the upcoming budget battle, and offers a profanity prevention tip on this week's MacIver Newsmakers podcast.
