@radiochiguiro invited @babanisoundsystem (Mauritius) to remix the iconic single “Poo Pad Pong Curry” from Xiangyu In this version, Babani infuses the track with a distinct tropical groove, adding a Mauritian flair that energizes the already legendary song.
xiangyu first met her future manager, Yasutomoto Funakanga, in 2012 while studying at Bunka Fashion College. Though she initially declined his suggestion to pursue music, she eventually agreed five years later. Together, they launched the xiangyu project with the explosive video for “Poo Pad Pong Curry,” a unique fusion of gqom and J-pop that captured global attention. Since then, xiangyu has sung about everyday subjects—food, shoes—supported by producers like Kenmochi Hidefumi and Gimgigam.
