As the seed pod flies through the chaos of the winds before finding fertile ground, as the caterpillar lives in immobilized darkness before becoming a butterfly, as the phoenix is incinerated to smoldering remains before being reborn, so too we often find ourself in the midst of change where comfort is distant. I found myself resonating strongly with the theme of metamorphoses as I reflected on my experience at Burning Man this year. Not an easy ride, but I know I'll be back for more.
Huge thank you to everyone at the Crystal Groove art car for welcoming me in, creating this family, and giving me the opportunity to play my first set atop at art car on playa (a little dream of mine come true). Admittedly this is not a live set, this is a re-creation that is mostly similar to the set I played on Crystal Groove during the Folly burn on our maiden voyage, watching swirling tornadoes of hot smoke peel off the immense flames, one after another.
