When our Lord had achieved His great victory through the cross and was taken up into heaven, he responded by giving gifts. And the recipients of those gifts were some of the people who had let Him down – like Simon Peter, and people who had persecuted him – like the apostle Paul, formerly Saul of Tarsus.
Jesus Christ is our very gracious king; and He has set a pattern of our way of living.
