Martin Albino was born in Trinidad and began piano lessons and eventually steelpan and drumming as a young boy. He performed as a bongo drummer on the Aunty Kay programme on Trinidad Radio. Aunty Kay started the Junior Carnival and Martin Albino was the Junior Calypso Monarch for 3 years. He immigrated to Canada and has been spreading Trinidadian culture through his creation of the Savoy SteelPan Orchestra and his numerous lessons, with senior and youth groups.
