Vernon Buckley formed the Maytones in May Pen Jamaica in the 60s. The group took off when their song “Money Worries” made it to the iconic Jamaican film “Rockers” soundtrack in 1979. Vernon Maytone continues to release music to this day and has toured the world and collaborated with such artists as Bedouin Soundclash. In this brief interview (to be continued at a later date) Howard Stretch Carr touches on their shared May Pen roots and Vernon updates us on his latest full album release that he wrote during the pandemic.
