I like to see every musical project of ours as a journey - a journey from the idea to the final result, where the result itself is not that important. What is important is the journey itself. This piece is one of my favorite on this album, and to name it "Journey" was quite natural as it sounded like a caravan walking across a vast desert. The inspiration for this piece came from Cirque du Soleil - we attended their show a year ago, it was the third time seeing them and that time it was "Alegria". To say that we were impressed is to say nothing. It was an absolutely overwhelming mystical experience. I must say it influenced the entire album. But "Journey" is special in a way as I subconsciously quoted a short motif from "Alegria's" music. A very short motif, just couple notes in the vocal line and I realized that only later.
I hope you will enjoy the music along with this timelapse of the artwork being drawn by the talented Anastasia Frenkel. She drew artworks for every single track of the album - they all are quite amazing! Vibrant, mystical, haunting, surreal - just like we envisioned this album to be.
