The Rhythm Rhythm Rhythm EP includes two originals, with mixes from Illyus & Barrientos, Paradox City, Lee Pearce and Boxer's own VIP Bosh Mix completing the package.
Lead track 'The Rhythm' is built around its dominant, chunky bass, evolving into a churning maelstrom of reverberation and looped vocals during the break before the beautifully executed drop. Glasgow's finest Illyus & Barrientos provide a dark remix, with steel drums-like stabs and rising pads creating a tense, driving slice of tech house, while Paradox City's neon-flecked version heads in a dreamy, almost progressive direction.
'Funky Groove' is another powerful original from Boxer, with classic hoover and horn samples giving it an old-school, ravey flavour. Lee Pearce draws out more from the vocal sample, with skittering hats and hard-hitting drums, while the VIP Bosh Mix ups the tempo, stripping it down to its bare essentials for a heads-down, techno-leaning workout.
