BORING STORY:
I always wanted to ruin that tune whose official title is "Ruined Castle Corridor". It's just too funny to do and call it "I Ruined Ruined Castle Corridor".
This month in the monthy contest of Pixel Mixers the theme is "Michiru Yamane VS Akira Yamaoka" (aka many Castlevanias VS many Silent Hills), and I initially didn't plan to participate because I wanted to rest a bit for awhile. However, I found the inspiration just in the latest days for deadline, and admitedly this theme is the perfect excuse to comply with my plains to ruin that "ruined castle corridor". So, "why not?".
So here's it. Musically I went to a very different direction. The original source having that rocking vibe it may be expected, from a metalhead like me, to go 100% metal with it. However, that's more like some weird, creepy dark pseudo-orchestral thing. No guitars, no metal drums. Just percussions, strings, organs, pianos and weird stuff like that. And chocobo-style vocals, of course!
All is 100% MIDI (except vocals, obviously), and nothing is played live. Production/mix is not great either, but I just focused on having a proper structure done as soon as possible so I can finish and upload quickly and in time for Pixel Mixers. This is just for fun, after all! However, I don't discard the idea of doing a vastly improved version and maybe even inviting musicians to play stuff on it and so make it infinitely better for some album version eventually.
In short; I wanted to keep this project simple for both music and video. It may still have a bunch of embarrassing mistakes, but I think it's decent enough, and it just works to bring some fun and laughs.
