John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Martin Luther called this verse, “The gospel in miniature.” In just 27 words it sums up the gospel. It has become the mantra of our faith. But this verse has a problem. It suffers from overexposure. It has been read and quoted so often that many of us no longer feel the power of it.
