A native of the Buffalo, NY area, Amanda Maciuba graduated from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Visual Studies and a concentration in Print Media. She also received a Masters of Fine Arts in Printmaking with a minor in Intermedia from the University of Iowa in 2015.
Amanda has been a resident artist at the Iowa Lakeside Laboratory, the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, and the Lawrence Arts Center in Lawrence, Kansas. Currently, you may find her living and practicing art in Lawrence, Kansas and teaching at Emporia State University and the Kansas City Art Institute.
Amanda's work is concerned with how the effects of purposeful human actions, alongside uncontrollable factors of time and nature, alter both the current landscape and human agency within that landscape.
