Description

This sermon on 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 was preached by Pastor Tommy Moore on May 15, 2022. For more information, please visit mercyhouse365.org. "Paul addresses the common customs of head coverings within the early churches, which sent a powerful message that is not the same today. This is universally accepted as a difficult text! Paul’s main point is to help the Corinthians understand the complimentary nature of Men and Women as designed by God. Men and Women are equally made in God’s image (Gen 1:26-27), have equal access to salvation (Gal 3:28) and share the same end (1 Pet 3:7), are equal in dignity, value and significance. Yet this text indicates that different and distinct roles are intended for Men and for Women. While head coverings (or lack thereof) do not have such weight and significance today, we must consider the importance of how we communicate distinctive gender norms built from scripture as opposed to society."
