Judges 2; God's people turn away from the most important directive that's been given to them by God - to worship only God. The result is discipline that leads to distress which leads to the them crying out and God sending a deliverer. This is the judges cycle that will play out 12 times over the entirety of the book. A cycle that shows our inability to save ourselves and the inability of any human savior to do the saving for us. This leaves us with only one hope - a true and better deliverer.
