A sermon given by Pastor Tommy Moore on April 3, 2022 on 1 Corinthians 7:1-40. "Understanding God’s plan for Marriages and Singleness. Corinth’s culture was one of hedonism where it was thought that sexual fulfillment was not found within the “confines” of marriage. This produced a radical response, with some married people abstaining from sex completely. This passage helps navigate the extremes of intense cultural sexuality, and religious prudeness. But let’s not over emphasize marriage-- Paul then aims the conversation toward the gift of singleness. Marriage is great but it’s not the end goal. Paul gives several cases for other walks of life and to be content where God would have us. Ultimately, where we’ve come from and what our station is has no bearing on our duty (and joy!) of living our lives for Jesus"
