Flora R. Howie, M.D., is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, with specialty interest in autism. Her clinical focus includes:
Expertise in evaluation and management of autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities such as ADHD, cognitive delay, or genetic syndromes.
Care for patients from infancy to 18 years of age.
Providing care in Mayo Clinic's Dana Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program for comprehensive family centered care.
Listening to patients and determining their parent's concerns and expectations in order to develop the best management plan for the family.
In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Howie is active in advocacy, research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows.

RT Autism Awareness Foundation (RTAAF): Located in Rochester, MN. The RTAAF is a community resource for education and support. This includes the CARES (Community Autism Resource, Education and Support) program. CARES is a 12 week intensive training program for parents of children who have been diagnosed with autism within the last year. Parents meet weekly for 12 weeks in a small group of 4-6 other parents.
