Description

What happens when school-level data is shared with the public? In this episode, we explore how open school data can help make education systems more transparent, accountable, and participatory.

Muriel Poisson, Head of IIEP’s Knowledge Generation and Mobilization team, is joined by Vadimas Ivanovas, Head of the State Data Governance Group, a division within Lithuania’s State Data Agency, and Mawuli Agbagnon, Education Policy Analyst at IIEP-UNESCO in Africa. Together, they unpack how governments and civil society are using open school data to strengthen trust between schools, communities, and education officials, while also navigating challenges around privacy and data quality. Drawing on examples from across continents, this episode highlights what planners and policy-makers need to know to leverage the power of open school data for more transparent, accountable education systems.
