ABOUT #Remix4Goldin
Remix 4 Goldin is part of a competition Lisa Goldin ran monthly during 2017 for a mission to find 4 new talented South African DJ Producers.
Approximately 25 artists applied and 4 selected from each challenge to go head-to-head with each other. They had a 10-day deadline to remix the song into a certain dance genre, off the "Who Are You, Again?" album. The 4 challenges were Dubstep, EDM, house and commercial dance. From each challenge a winning remix was selected.
It's been fascinating uncovering these artists’ talents, as each producer has already developed their own signature sound. Fresh sounds from South African talent aged between 19-30 years old.
About JOLO
Johan Loubser aka Jolo is a South African Producer born in Pretoria,, raised in Cape Town and found solitude in Lichtenburg North West.
Inspired by everyday events he produces tracks unique to the club scene. With his eccentric sounds and melodic backdrops listeners will be quick to distinguish his tracks in the vast EDM scene.
A Friday residency Djing locally in a Lichtenburg club kick-started Jolo’s passion for production, creating his own tracks and honing his art as a DJ. His set includes everything from Danny Tenaglia to Dada Life to music from Mauro Picotto.
“My inspirations are from all over the place ,from Vangelis to Guns & Roses to Seal. I have a great respect for the art of production and how music influences us on a daily basis.”
Signed to various labels namely; Matrix Music Records, Klank Records, Azure Recordings and Progression Digital.
