additions welcome, should anyone be inspired by emptyness :)
Emptiness. I was working from the emptiness of a beat basis track. Name Constant's track called It: https://soundcloud.com/random-coil/it-1
The production used different band pass filters, equalization and bit decimation, followed by audio to midi conversion. The midi notes were not changed except for lengthening of notes, gluing, removal of notes (erasing every odd note or manually erasing notes that stuck out), and changing the pitch of eight bar note groups. The key of this groove seems to be F, as ascertained from the audio to midi procedure. Assigned the midi scores to Keys/Sytrus/Harmless tracks in FL Studio. Added effects and exported the final track.
The nice part of using audio to midi conversion is that all the parts have a strong lock on the drumbeat, perhaps artificially so. Somehow as I was working on this, the tempo was switched from 53.920 bpm to 130.000 bpm, probably when I exported the sliced original track to a new project. Only when I listened to other disquiet tracks did I realise this.
