The co-hosts and Anne Jaclard review and discuss “The U.S. and the Holocaust,” the new PBS documentary by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and Sarah Botstein. The documentary details the relation between U.S. immigration restrictions and the Nazis’ mass extermination of Jews, as well as the ever-present and ongoing struggle between American supporters and opponents of white supremacy and anti-Semitism. Anne and the co-hosts discuss the overall import of the documentary, review and comment on each of its three episodes, and offer personal recollections of the early post-Holocaust period.
