A bill that passed along party lines in both chambers of the Wisconsin Legislature is now heading to Governor Evers’ desk. It would offer employee benefits to drivers for Uber, Doordash, and similar businesses – and classify them as independent contractors. But while the bill has some powerful supporters, it’s unclear if the governor will sign it into law.
