Another inmate died Monday morning at Waupun, an apparent suicide. Chris McDonald’s death is the sixth since the facility was put on lockdown over a year ago.
Lonnie Story is the attorney representing Waupun inmates in a class action lawsuit against the state’s Department of Corrections, arguing that their living conditions are inhumane.
The case hit a roadblock in May, when a federal judge dismissed some of the claims in the suit.
But Story told WORT reporter David Ahrens today that he plans to refile the complaint - with additional counts.
