Description

Today's partial solar eclipse began around 12:50 and lasted for about two and a half hours.
And while Madison wasn't within the path of totality, Madisonians still stepped outside to watch the skies - witnessing a rare moment as the wind died down and shadows became crescent-shaped.
On campus, Library Mall was crawling with hundreds of students. A smaller group of amateur astronomers gathered on Observatory Hill to get a better view.
