Waupun Correctional Institution, a maximum-security prison in southeast Wisconsin, has been on lockdown since late March. Incarcerated people’s families and friends gathered outside the Capitol today alongside prison reform advocates, executive action from Governor Tony Evers is long overdue. They’re demanding the lockdown end and that corrections facilities across the state go through mandated improvements.
