Catholic dioceses in swing states, including here in Wisconsin, are disavowing any connection to “The Catholic Tribune.”
At first glance, the mailer resembles a newspaper; but it features partisan reporting and misinformation. And it’s showing up in mailboxes across the country.
Investigative news outlet ProPublica uncovered in a recent article that “The Catholic Tribune” has ties to right-wing super PACs and billionaires.
Megan O’Matz co-authored the article and tells WORT News Producer Faye Parks that the mailer is one of thousands – in a nationwide effort to distribute “pink slime journalism” ahead of the election.
