Description

Texas Attorney General and Election Denier Ken Paxton, of late in the news for his alleged criminal misdeeds, scandals and legal problems, made headlines this week for authorizing the raid of an 87 year old woman’s home in Texas. Forced to witness the 6am raid in her nightgown from her front porch, 9 people in tactical gear entered and ransacked her home, confiscating her computer and cell phone as part of an attempt to charge her with vote harvesting.

Joining Thursday 8 O'Clock Buzz hosts Tony Castañeda and Eli Wilz is Domingo García, Chair of the National Government Affairs Committee for the League of United Latin American Citizens or LULAC, which is calling for the Department of Justice to investigate the raids, which targeted at least 5 other voting activists. Personal cell phones, computers and documents were seized in the raids, which to date have not led to any charges being files against those who had their homes searched.

Paxton said his office’s Election Integrity Unit began the investigation after receiving a referral from a local prosecutor.
