When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, the authority to regulate or ban abortion care was left up to the states. Abortion is legal here in Wisconsin – but, under threat of losing their Medicaid funding, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced Thursday that they’re pausing abortion services starting today.
Wisconsin law also severely restricts abortion care and doesn’t guarantee the right to contraception. But Democrats in the state Legislature are working to change that.
