In this monologue, Kushal shares his views on the political landscape of India. Since its independence in 1947, India has had a very interesting political journey. Since the lingustic reorganisation of states was set in motion in the 1950s, we have had a spate of regional political outfits. This has led to a fascinating balancing act at the regional and national level. But how does a voter assess these political outfits and their conflicting political interests? This monologue tries to look at some of those potential issues: what could be the pitfalls if we had an all-powerful centre or the power was completely devolved to the regional political parties?
