The precursor to the television show "Dating Game" but on radio... "Blind Date" with host Arlene Francis. It was September 1945 and World War II had just ended. This show coming from ABC radio was intent on finding dates for servicemen. The way the game was played is explained in the brief introduction... this radio show became a television show by the same name. Arlene Francis was the host of the program from the beginning on July 8, 1943 to the end of the series as a television show on NBC in 1952. Nine year run... not too shabby!
