Ralph Bellamy (Photo) starred in this play written specifically for radio by Stephen Vincent Benet. Aired in July of 1942 this is the story of the beginnings of Adolph Hitler taking control of the German government in 1933... a process that included burning many of the most famous and revered books in the world... anything that mentioned Democracy or that was written by Jewish authors .. In 1933 Hitler's actions were just the beginnings of what would result in the extermination of 6 million people.... and it began with the "Burning of the Books!"
