A collection of Mark Twain's reflections and stories called "Mark Twain in Eruption" included a section entitled "Hannibal Days" (Hannibal, Missouri) with a short story of his first day at school at the age of 4 1/2.. entitled "A Corn Pone Prayer" ... School is starting soon in USA... as a retired teacher with 35 years in the classroom...I thought the reading of this story written in 1906 was entertaining and interesting to compare school then and now.
