Audio Introduction gives a good background on the series, how it was organized, directed, and produced. Though it may sound like a robot today, back in the 1950's when the show came on radio... it was considered the "Cadillac" of police dramas... the most realistic on the air. Jack Webb (Sgt. Joe Friday) produced, directed, and starred in the show. He was a perfectionist and demanded a lot of the cast and crew and as such sometimes had "Help Wanted" signs up... as some of the people working on the program could not take the stress of his demands.
