John Dehner was radio's Paladin, Richard Boone was television's Paladin. Both versions were on the air for most of the same time... 1957-60 with the TV series lasting until 1963. It is interesting to note that the two actors played the character of Paladin very different from one another... and that is the only way John Dehner accepted the offer to play the role on radio. He wanted the freedom to create his own character and not to be a carbon copy the the Paladin that Richard Boone portrayed on television.
